Welcome to Love and Life Antics- The Love and Life Blog ™!
If you landed here, I thank Google and give you a warm welcome!
I’m Jacen J – a love, life, and relationships blogger/writer. I have a passion for writing about love and life problems, focusing on how to break free from emotionally unavailable relationships, and also how to overcome life adversities by becoming more emotionally available.
From 2013 thru 2019, I created a now-defunct blog called Loveantics.com– The Relationships Blog. Deciding to leave a toxic work environment, I underwent a life transition.
While on a quest to create a healthier life and career, I moved to The Sunshine State. During that process, I got caught up with life, let my writing slip, and went on a writing sabbatical, but now I’m back rebuilding!
My writing credits include publishing a feature article for relationship coach Nick Bastion’s premier online dating magazine Vixen Daily.
The article’s title is, “Are You Carrie Still Looking for Mr. Big? How to Make a Man commit.”
Also, I’ve been featured as a guest contributor for Digital Romance, Inc. relationship expert Michael Fiore’s online dating magazine.
The Themes of Love and Life Antics- The Love and Life Blog ™ are:
1) Learning how to break free from emotionally unavailable relationships
2) Overcoming life adversity by learning how to become more emotionally available to ourselves and others.
Yes, it’s important to get to the root and understand the unhealthy love patterns that underpin the emotional pain of the limited relationship we experience.
Yet, it’s also cathartic when we can find solutions to our love and life problems. After all, ain’t nobody wanna be struggling forever. Right? Ya’ dig me?
Emotionally unavailable relationships scream the message, “you can get close, but NOT too close”. They’re painful relationship experiences that amplify self-doubt, and loss of hope and lead to a cycle of disappointment.
I know all too well about that pain, but I’ve done some of my own soul work to overcome it. Hopefully, you find the love and life lessons I share helpful to you along your journey.
In 2013 when I started the Loveantics.com blog, I experienced what I call my “Relationship Aha Moment”- a pivotal relationship with an emotionally unavailable partner which brought me to my knees in emotional agony, but also served as a swift kick of reality for me to wake up. There was a purpose to my painful love lessons.
After getting past the initial disappointment of not being loved by emotionally unavailable partners (read: many), the smoke cleared for me, and a light bulb went off.
I realized that those dark relationships are only a shadow of our own emotional unavailability. The emotionally unavailable partner (he or she) is often mirroring back our unfinished business for us to heal.
The good news? Well, through doing our own soul work (and with some help from the Almighty), we can jumpstart the healing process, break unhealthy patterns, and avoid unnecessary pain.
By the grace of God (and some dope therapists throughout my lifetime-Chuckle), I’ve overcome some of my love and life antics. So, I know it’s possible. Love and life lessons come thru love and life antics-the adversities we face.
Letting go of emotionally unavailable partners, people, and unhealthy situations is the beginning of the work to become emotionally available.
I hope that by sharing my own story, experiences, insights, and anecdotes from friends, family, and acquaintances, you’ll become empowered to create and experience fulfilling healthy love relationships.
Also, that you’ll learn to live and love again from a more authentic place without fear.
There are two kinds of love-unhealthy and healthy love. Do you know the difference? Also, there are two paths in this life:
a) being overcome by adversity
or
b) looking for and learning our love and life lessons so we can transcend some of “The Struggle“

About using the pseudonym Jacen J to publish on the Love and Life Blog:
Note that I used to publish blog content under my government name. However this time around, I’ve chosen to use the pseudonym Jacen J for blog publishing. I work in the helping professions and prefer to have some separation between my writing and my current professional life (at least for now).
